Polly Apfelbaum (b.1955) was born in Abington, Pennsylvania and received her BFA from the Tyler School of Art. Organically inspired, her works channel abstract painting with their geometric form and saturated bright colors. Her work has been shown consistently in New York and internationally since her first solo exhibition in 1986. Recently, the artist has been a recipient of the Joseph H. Hazen Rome Prize, awarded to those who represent the highest standard of excellence in the arts and humanities.
The artist currently lives and works in New York.
